Team IS spars on the cricket pitch, and some practice pix!

Team India Syndicate sparred mightily on the cricket pitch on Saturday, led by two titans: JK and Imran. The 6 overs-per-side game started at 7.30 am and saw some brilliant batting display from Imran's side -- 90 runs, with Dipankar and Imran hogging the limelight with the willow.

JK's side, despite a stellar bowling performance from the captain with a maiden over than claimed 2 wickets, could score only 56 runs. JK was felled by Imran, adding a fitting footnote to a fine morning of the gentleman's game.

Anyone who watched how JK practiced his strokes in the IS office the day before the game, would be excused for having thought he would walk away with the victory. (See pictures below) But then, if wishes were horses ...

The blogs talk about everything India. In the words of deputy editor E Jayakrishnan, "Incisive, sharp and sometimes wacky, the blog goes the way of words, poetry and verse! On all matters India, lifestyle, sports, Bollywood, international affairs and the world, and even the otherworldly! From neta to abhineta, maa to cinema, life to strife, and from drive to bribe!"

From Sonakshi Sinha's predilection for lace dresses to politicians' penchant for catching the foot-in-the-mouth disease to Ash's carrying her extra kilos with aplomb, this is the place where those little details that are usually overlooked in the rush of a news day gets closer scrutiny. Including, yes, the fellow practitioners of the trade of journalism!
